Ingredients

  • 125g (4oz) butter
  • 250g (8oz) caster sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 200g (7oz) plain flour
  • 25g (1oz) cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 75g (3oz) milk chocolate chunks
  • 75g (3oz) white chocolate chunks

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to gas mark 3/170°C (160°C in a fan oven).

Step 2

In a heatproof bowl, melt cocoa solids, chocolate and butter together over a pan of hot water.

Step 3

Cool, then beat in sugar, eggs and vanilla.

Step 4

Fold in remaining ingredients.

Step 5

Line a baking sheet with greaseproof paper and drop on mixture, tbsp by tbsp 5cm/2in apart.

Step 6

Bake for 8-10 minutes, till cookies are cracked but soft.

Step 7

Cool for 5mins then transfer to rack!!
